General Information

Didube is one of the ten administrative districts in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. It is situated on the left bank of the Mtkvari river. The Didube district covers Didube neighborhood and Digomi Massive. 

Didube territory was inhabited in ancient times. There, the Kura-Araxes culture or the early trans-Caucasian culture existed between the period of 4,000 BC-2,000 BC. The district was given a name in the 11th century that meant plain, flat place. At that time, it is said that King’s palace was located in Didube. In the 19th century, more than 500 Germans were inhabited nearby the Didube district. So today it is possible to see German architecture features in Didube and Chughureti districts.
