General Information

Avchala is a suburb of Tbilisi from 1962. It’s a part of Gldani-Nadzaladevi district. Avchala is located on the left bank of the Mtkvari. It’s been known as a village, until being incorporated with Tbilisi. The place is divided into two parts -upper and lower sections. 

In 1927, in upper section of Avchala the Hydro Electric station (Zahes) was built. This was the first, most powerful Hydro Electric station in Georgia.

Avchala is far from Tbilisi center. But besides that factor, you can still access it from different parts of the city. Also, the place is good for those who aren’t willing to live in the noisy parts of the city. 

The average price for buying an apartment here is one of the cheapest and is approximately $375 (sq.m.).

Although Avchala is far from the center of Tbilisi, there are different kinds of transport heading to different parts of the city. You can catch a Taxi, or just take a bus. Here you can take the following buses: 11, 70, 108.
