General Information
Varketili is one of the most important parts of Tbilisi. It is located on the left side of the river Mtkvari far from the city center. In early years, in the place of Varketili was a fruit orchard. In the period of the soviet union, these places became state-owned. In 1970 urbanization began and in the 1980’s, new residential districts, Varketili II and Varketili III were divided into micro-districts.
Even though it isn’t a tourists main destination because of its location, the neighborhood includes some of the most important parts of the city. Also, Due to Varketili Metro, it takes only 10-15 minutes to get to the center which is very convenient.
